In 1997 she filed a lawsuit against a prince of the ruling family of Brunei, alleging that he had compelled her into performing sexual acts for guests at a party he organized.<br /></p><p>Marketic was crowned Miss Arizona Teen USA 1989 but held the title for only a week and a half after it was discovered an error had been made and she had actually placed first runner-up.<br /><br />A few years later, she became Miss California USA 1992, and went on to represent California in the 1992 Miss USA pageant, which was broadcast live from Wichita, Kansas in February 1992. Marketic entererd the top 6 with the third highest semi-finals average score. After answering the judges' questions, she went into the final 3 in second place and eventually winning the 1992 crown. She also won the Miss Photogenic award.<br /><br />Marketic went on to compete in the 1992 Miss Universe pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand on May 8 and was one of 10 semifinalists who competed for the title. At the 1987 Miss Universe pageant, she won the preliminary competition, but on finals night, she finished 2nd runner-up to Cecilia Bolocco of Chile.</p><p>Michelle Royer is married to "Banana Don" Jefferson, morning on-air personality at country-formatted radio station WITL-FM in Lansing, Michigan. The pair met during an appearance when Royer made a stop in Pittsburgh shortly after winning her Miss USA title.<br /><br />Royer joined her husband briefly as half of the morning show behind the microphone when Jefferson accepted a new job as morning on-air personality at adult contemporary-formatted WSHH in Pittsburgh.
