A test run on a computer involved inputting all the facts about this year's 71 Miss Universe delegates and determined that Miss Bolivia, Jacqueline Gamarra, would win. She did not even make the semi-finals. "It seems so small today. Last night it seemed too big," she remarked about the crown she had only won the night before. History repeats itself as Haiti's Gerthie David is the second black to place as 1st runner-up. She was the second Finn to win the title. Armi Kuusela, Miss Universe 1952 was also from Finland.
