What started out as the “Miss Asia Quest” contest back in 1968, today is viewed as one of the prestigious international beauty pageants. The contest had a humble beginning with 18 countries participating in the 1968 event. 1984 is a milestone in the history of the contest with the US, Canada and also countries of south and central America participating for the first time. The following year, the contest came to be known as the “Miss Asia Pacific Quest,” with 40 participating countries.
